I became a counselor because I am passionate about the idea that strong relationships build strong communities. When things are difficult at home, everything else in the world seems so much harder. It is my honor to work with clients to achieve their goals through person-centered, customized, and evidence-based relationship counseling and couples counseling. I grew up in a military family and love putting down roots in beautiful Eagle River, Alaska with my husband and three children.
I received my Master’s Degree of Science (MS) in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University in 2020 and became board certified as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) in 2021. I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in 2022. I have received post-graduate training in the Gottman Method for couples counseling , EMDR for processing trauma, multicultural counseling, grief, and telehealth. I have worked in the mental health field since 2017.
My treatment approaches are customized to meet the needs of the client. Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, The Gottman Method, EMDR, and Existential Therapy are some approaches used. I have experience treating couples’ issues, anxiety, depression, attachment issues, trauma, complex PTSD, change of life issues, LGBTQ+ issues, OCD, parent child conflict, adolescents, young adult issues, and grief. Christian counseling is available upon request.

From a young age I was fascinated by psychology and human behavior. When I saw someone struggling with mental health issues, instead of thinking, "What's wrong with them?" I would often think, "I wonder what happened to them?". The good news is, it isn't always necessary to delve into the past in order to create the life you want now and into the future. Almost everyone struggles with adjustments to life on life's terms at some point. I love working with individuals, couples, and families to discover their unique strengths and offer evidence-based tools to help them create their best life, regardless of the obstacles that stand in the way. It is always an honor for me to invited into someone's life and walk alongside them as they go through this process.
I graduated with honors from the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Capella University and completed a one-year internship in residential and outpatient clinics in Anchorage. I have received specialized training in Discernment Counseling and am currently working on more extensive training in the Gottman Method, Family Trauma, and telehealth. I have completed master’s level courses in multicultural counseling, grief, and LGBTQ+ issues.
Treatment approaches are based on the needs of the client. I primarily utilize a systemic Solution-Focused approach, but also use interventions from Motivational Interviewing, The Gottman Method, and Discernment Counseling. I have experience treating anxiety, depression, attachment issues, trauma, change of life issues, and grief.
